Brent Fodera, M. S.

Brent joins the Foundation for Retinal Research as the Senior Clinical Research Coordinator. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology from LSU in Baton Rouge, and his Master’s Degree in Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where he was the recipient of the Superior Graduate Student Fellowship. He managed research trials through Children’s Oncology Group (COG) at Children’s Hospital New Orleans, and the National Lung Screening Trial at Ochsner Hospital. As a laboratory scientist, Brent conducted studies into the regulation of the Mdm-2/p53 feedback loop during oncogenesis, and also helped discover a putative retroviral etiologic agent in Primary Biliary Cholangitis. He joins our team after 15 years of teaching Biology and Allied Health Prerequisites in the Louisiana Community and Technical College System.
